Central Provident Fund Board Privacy Statement (“Privacy Statement”)

A.             General

 

1.              This is a Central Provident Fund Board mobile app (“App”).

 

2.              In this Privacy Statement, “we”, “us” or “our” refers collectively to the Central Provident Fund Board.

 

3.              This Privacy Statement sets out the way in which we may use the information, including your personal data, which was obtained via your access to and/or use of the App (“Information”).

 

4.              It is your responsibility to inform us of any discrepancy in the Information submitted through transactions via the App, and we are not liable for any damage or loss caused to you due to errors in the Information.

 

5.              We reserve the right to modify or supplement the Privacy Statement at our discretion and at any time, by posting the modified or supplemented Privacy Statement on or through the App, or through such other means as we may deem appropriate. Your continued use of the App following the posting of any modification or supplement will constitute your acceptance of such modification or supplement. If you do not agree to any modification or supplement to the Privacy Statement, please do not use the App.

 

B.              Collection of Information

 

6.              We may collect the Information through various technologies including but not limited to:

 

a)              Analytics Tags: Analytics tags are third party elements used by us to analyse the effectiveness of the functionalities, features and user preferences relating to the App;

 

b)              Cookies/Trackers: Cookies/Trackers are small data files which are sent to your Device to store and track information about you when you use the App. Cookies are also used to improve and maintain the functionality of the App, and to track information such as the profile of the users and information relating to the use of the App;

 

c)               Server Logs: Server logs are files and records of activity created by the Device that you use the App from. For example, a server log may record a history of page requests, errors, access attempts or other information about your Device, such as your IP address or Operating System (OS); and

 

d)              Device Information: Information relating to your Device such as its model, type, operating system and other technical attributes.

 

C.              Use of Information

 

7.              We may use the Information for the following purposes, including but not limited to:


a)              understand more about user preferences relating to the App in order to improve general user experience;

 

b)              administrative, security and troubleshooting purposes for the App; and

 

c)              baseline users’ behaviour against past behavioural patterns.

 

 

D.             Use of Personal Data

 

8.              If you provide us with personal data:

 

a)              Where appropriate, we may share necessary personal data with other Government Agencies, to serve you in the most efficient and effective way unless such sharing is prohibited by law.

 

b)              We will NOT share your personal data with non-Government entities, except where such entities have been authorised to carry out specific Government services. We will NOT share your personal data with other non-Government entities without your consent except where such sharing complies with the law.

 

c)              For your convenience, we may also display to your personal data you had previously supplied us or other Government Agencies. This will speed up the transaction and save you the trouble of repeating previous submissions. Should the personal data be out-of-date, please supply us the latest personal data.

 

d)              Contact information such as phone number and email will be collected for the purpose of account creation. It is also used to contact you for various app related communication such as reminder of events that you have signed up for.

 

 

E.              Protection of Information

 

9.              To safeguard your Information, all electronic storage and transmission of Information is secured with appropriate security technologies.

 

10.           The App may contain links to non-Government sites which data protection and privacy practices may differ from ours. We are not responsible for the content and privacy practices of these other sites and we encourage you to consult the privacy notices of those sites.
